On the obverse are the names Tristan de Rostaing and his wife Francoise Robertet, along with the date 1582; on the reverse are the names Philip Hurault and his wife Anne de Thou, along with the date 1595. It is uncertain what this medal commemorates; Tristan de Rostaing was made a Knight of the Order of the Holy Spirit in 1582, and Philip Hurault was Chancellor of France from 1582-1599.
